“Christains have a greater/equal possibility of being wrong than Atheists”

brosephstalin:

Look.

You guys base your entire argument on logic and/or self-pity, but in your strive for personal acceptance and the solution to the greatest “mystery”, you’ve overlooked the “logic” that you claim to possess.

#1 If you’re gonna go forthright and acknowledge that there is a God,

(Examples: Oh, well why didn’t God help my grandmother when she was dying? Why hasn’t God done anything for me? Why haven’t I found legit proof of His existence?)

don’t call yourself an Atheist, lol, you’re simply confused.

#2 What is this bullshit about who’s right or wrong? If the world ended tomorrow, the Human species will have been but a blink of an eye in the time span of the universe, and this petty “argument” would be looked on by other, more intelligent lifeforms as a laughing matter.

#3 If a majority of Atheists are intelligent (which I’m sure most of you are), can compute simple Math, and apply various levels of “logic” in your everyday life, how come you’ve yet to grasp the fact that there was indeed a Divine intervenor? Life was a big coincidence, right? Wrong.

We’ve learned that every reaction has a reaction, right? Ok.. so with that same amount of logic inputted in that statement, think back to the three original particles that made up the Universe however many billions of years ago. There had to be SOME SOURCE to initiate that INITIAL explosion that indefinitely created the ever-expanding Universe from those three particles. There had to be an ACTOR to result in the REACTION, which indeed was the creation of the Universe. And so life, over millions and billions of years, came along by way of coinsidence? Wrong again.

Own up to the fact that you are a walking, breathing miracle. See that penis/vagina of yours? That was created by the miracle of trillions of years of evolution, that life is able to reproduce and further expand species on the miracle of a planet that we live in, in this miracle of a galaxy that we revolve around, in this miracle of a Universe that we’ve yet to explore.

#4 I’ll even go as far as to apply laws of Math into this “argument”.

0/0 = 0.. right?

If we effectively resulted from nothing (according to the roots of Atheism), how can we be anything? How can matter exist at all?

Yeah, you’re right, doesn’t make sense to me either.

#5 I have Atheist friends and I find them as contributing members of society like anybody else, so don’t take this personally. I’m just simply letting you know that before you throw “logic” stones at everybody, do your research and pose a deeper argument (by warping yourself into some sub-reality in where you’re created from nothing o_0?) besides the shit I’ve been hearing. You might not want to worship or praise Him, but at least acknowledge that he’s there.

Okay I have to make a few points here.

1. I simply do not believe there is a God, it was not a split second decision. It was a long and drawn out process

2. “#2 What is this bullshit about who’s right or wrong? If the world ended tomorrow, the Human species will have been but a blink of an eye in the time span of the universe, and this petty “argument” would be looked on by other, more intelligent lifeforms as a laughing matter.”

All of this you are not addressing Atheism. You are addressing science and the history of the Universe. If you did any research beyond basic science class you would learn of the theories of the Big Bang. That there are many universes and ours was formed as a break off of another.

3. Here is why I am an atheist. The way I look at history of humanity, millions of years, we’ve always just tried to come up with why we are here. I never said I was right, I never said you were wrong. I said we both had the same probability of being wrong. I just happen to be on the other end of the aisle.

Also, looking at Christian history, the reason Christianity is the largest religion in the world is because the Roman Empire adopted because they saw it was a rising force in the Empire. They did this over 300 Years after the birth of Jesus (whom i believe was a great philosopher, but not the son of god) the Empire was one of the most powerful nations in history, so they were able to spread this influence throughout the European world. The Christian world was much more organized and thus able to defeat and convert the pagans of the area. They combined pagan and christian traditions to make the conversion more desirable.

Now, here’s my big issue. Religion throughout history, nearly every one, but Christianity especially has murdered, conquered and destroyed cultures and people across the world. When a religion’s founder preaches love thy enemy and peace towards others, no matter what, and tells people that the god he is speaking for will judge them based on that, and then that religion even up until today persecutes and judges and is made of bigots, and their supposed god does nothing, nothing at all to change this, that is why i do not believe, because a religion that prides itself on the founder, of its holy book and its moral principles and breaks them yet the god does nothing, the god can not exist. And if he does, i for one would rather die and have nothing then serve a god that apparently condones this behavior

Im not saying all Christians are bad people, not in any sense of the word. I am just saying that everyone should mind their own damn business about personal beliefs. I’m not trying to convert you, you should not  try to say we are wrong or anyone else is wrong because no one knows who is right or wrong. There are 2 billion Christians, 1.5 Billion Muslims a billion Hindus, a billion Buddhists, and then millions of other religions and to say one is right with absolute certainty is your own prerogative but you should not be quick to judge because Christianity is still relatively young.

I agree with 98.4% of what you said, Sam.
